I hope to help you stay in touch with hot topics and reality on the ground in the UK and European business intelligence markets and to provide content, opinion and expertise on BI and it's related technologies. I'll explore established and newly emerging technologies in BI including data integration, BI platform tools such as reporting, OLAP, dashboard builders, predictive analytics and performance management software such as scorecarding and planning. I'll also look at DW appliances, data visualisation, Portals, operational BI etc. and at BI applications.

I'd like to focus discussion in this blog around the future of business intelligence (BI) and how I see it evolving in the coming years. You can see that's where my interest lies from the content of my first article, and I hope it's something you are all interested in too. My belief is that we are going through quite a sea change in the BI world at present, driven by similar changes in the IT world in general. We have the opportunity now to define how we want to see BI evolve. If we don't participate, we will be swept along by the changes going on in the wider IT world. It would be a shame to be left behind ... so I hope you'll join me on this exciting journey.

I like the various blogs associated with my many hobbies and even those to do with work. I find them very useful and I was excited when the Business Intelligence Network invited me to write my very own blog. At last I now have somewhere to park all the various tidbits that I know are useful, but I am not sure what to do with. I am interested in a wide range of information technologies and so you might find my thoughts will bounce around a bit. I hope these thoughts will provoke some interesting discussions.
