Executive Team

Ron Powell: Cofounder & Editorial Director
Ron has an extensive technology background with more than 30 years of experience in the field as a CEO, COO, consultant, manager and editor. Prior to the founding of the BeyeNETWORK with Shawn Rogers, he was cofounder, publisher and editorial director of a business intelligence publication. Ron has a wealth of expertise in business intelligence, business management and marketing.

Jean Schauer: Editor in Chief
Jean has more than 14 years of editorial experience in business intelligence, data warehousing, data integration and performance management. Prior to joining the BeyeNETWORK in 2006, she held the position of editor in chief of a business intelligence publication where she worked closely with the industry experts who contributed articles for publication.

Mary Jo Nott: Executive Editor

Mary Jo has more than 13 years of print and online experience in the business intelligence/data warehousing space. At the BeyeNETWORK, Mary Jo is responsible for research report project management, global content provisioning and the Vision Awards for Business Impact. She also moderates many BeyeNETWORK features, including web seminars, Executive Spotlights and Ask the Experts. Highly regarded in the industry, Mary Jo has developed strong relationships with writers and other key members of the business intelligence community.

Chris Bradley

Chris Bradley


Christopher Bradley has spent almost 30 years in the data management field, working for several blue-chip organisations in data management strategy, master data management, metadata management, data warehouse and business intelligence implementations.  His career includes Volvo as lead database architect, Thorn EMI as Head of Data Management, Reader's Digest Inc as European CIO, and Coopers and Lybrand’s Management Consultancy where he established and ran the International Data Management specialist practice. During this time, he worked upon and led many major international assignments including data management strategies, data warehouse implementations and establishment of data governance structures and the largest data management strategy undertaken in Europe. 

Currently, Mr. Bradley heads the Business Consultancy practice at IPL, a UK based consultancy and has been working for several years with many clients including a British HQ’d super major energy company.  Within their Enterprise Architecture group, he has established data modelling as a service and has been developing a group-wide data management strategy to ensure that common business practices and use of master data and models are promoted throughout the group.  These have involved establishing a data management framework, evangelising the message to management worldwide, developing governance and new business processes for data management and developing and delivering training. He is also advising other commercial and public sector clients on information asset management.

Mr. Bradley is a member of the Meta Data Professionals Organisation (MPO) and DAMA, and has archived Certified Data Management Professional Master status (CDMP Master). Malcolm Chisholm

Barry Devlin

Barry Devlin


Dr. Barry Devlin is among the foremost authorities in the world on business insight and data warehousing. He was responsible for the definition of IBM's data warehouse architecture in the mid '80s and authored the first paper on the topic in the IBM Systems Journal in 1988. He is a widely respected consultant and lecturer on this and related topics, and author of the comprehensive book Data Warehouse: From Architecture to Implementation published by Addison-Wesley in 1997.

Over the past few years, Barry has extended his interest to cover the wider field of a fully integrated business, covering informational, operational and collaborative environments and, in particular, how to present the end user with an holistic experience of the business through IT.

Barry has worked in the IT industry for more than 25 years, mainly as a Distinguished Engineer for IBM in Dublin, Ireland. He is now founder and principal of 9sight Consulting, specializing in the human, organizational and IT implications and design of deep business insight solutions.

Andy Hayler

Andy Hayler


Andy Hayler is one of the world’s foremost experts on master data management. Andy started his career with Esso as a database administrator and, among other things, invented a “decompiler” for ADF, enabling a dramatic improvement in support efforts in this area.  He became the youngest ever IT manager for Esso Exploration before moving to Shell. As Technology Planning Manager of Shell UK he conducted strategy studies that resulted in significant savings for the company.  Andy then became Principal Technology Consultant for Shell international, engaging in significant software evaluation and procurement projects at the enterprise level.  He then set up a global information management consultancy business which he grew from scratch to 300 staff. Andy was architect of a global master data and data warehouse project for Shell downstream which attained USD 140M of annual business benefits. 

Andy founded Kalido, which under his leadership was the fastest growing business intelligence vendor in the world in 2001.  Andy was the only European named in Red Herring’s “Top 10 Innovators of 2002”.  Kalido was a pioneer in modern data warehousing and master data management.
