SAP AG Announces Continued Adoption of its SAP for Retail Solutions
Published: 7 October 2008
With the SAP for Retail solution portfolio, grocers can efficiently support the role of a central perishables buyer.

SAP AG recently announced continued adoption of its SAP for Retail solutions with significant customer endorsements. Over 124 SAP food retail customers, including Brookshire Grocery Company, have selected SAP for Retail solutions that help grocers meet the latest merchandise, supply chain and customer challenges.

Recognizing that many food retailers today struggle with procurement of perishables and integrated direct–store delivery, SAP provides retailers complete visibility into their business operations and promotes easy collaboration among vendors. With the SAP for Retail solution portfolio, grocers can efficiently support the role of a central perishables buyer. In addition, the solutions enable management of supply relationships in mass through a direct-store delivery model.

"SAP has provided us with the necessary tools and functionality to meet our current business needs and yet at the same time provide the flexibility for growth," said John D'Anna, vice president, Information Technology Planning and Strategy, Brookshire Grocery Company. "Our staff can now access real-time, up–to–date data for helping them make better decisions. The SAP for Retail solutions deliver significant business value by facilitating better definition of assortments, vendor selection, buying decision and store distribution. The solution portfolio is also helping Brookshire transition from a traditional, buyer–focused process to a management model that is focused on the individual customers at our particular stores."
